Two cities - two capitals - two different countries.
I was in Berlin for the last two days and was somehow thinking a lot of things that were happening in Tallinn and eventually some thoughts crossed my mind on the funny curves of history on this continent... While in Estonia, Bronze soldier was moved to military cemetery and this created a serious trouble for EU - Russia relation, the other soldier was standing still in Berlin close to the Brandenburg gate. Do you think it will ever be moved to the military cemetery? Let's leave it for the future to decide, but what is interesting is the historic meaning that those soldiers represent...
For Germany it reminds the bitter historic times and probably to certain extent the following separation and wall.... For Estonia it reminds of occupation force that did everything but liberating this nation from repression. So both bitter moments of history, but then there is a reason for those monuments to remain in place, because one can't correct the history, neither one should forget it...
